Veterinary Surgeon (Day)

Our family run independent small animal and exotics practice Norfolk, is looking for an additional day veterinary surgeon to join our team. We are proudly independent and accredited Gold standard Cat and Rabbit friendly and currently undertaking the Dog friendly application process. Our team care for small animals, exotic pets (birds, reptiles, small mammals and fish) as well as zoo animals within private and zoological collections so the case load is always varied and interesting. Experience with exotics is beneficial but not essential as support is always available. We are ideally looking for a colleague with a few years of experience as our medical and surgical case load can be quite complex, however, we would be happy to hear from less experience colleagues too as our current team are able to provide support if necessary. Our support team include 7 RVN’s, 1 SVN, 1 ANA, 2 Receptionists, Administration Manager and Practice Manager.

Our surgery has Dental X-ray, digital x-ray, ultrasound including cardiac capabilities, video gastroscope, bronchoscope, laryngoscope and rigid scope, onsite CT scanner, laser therapy, separate cat, dog and exotic waiting areas and wards and fully equipped theatres with air conditioning throughout the practice.

We do provide out of hours cover for our clients however, the out of hours requirement from our day vets is minimal as the majority is covered by our dedicated night teams.

Benefits include

·      4 day working week (average 37 hours)

·      Rota’d days off to include 4 day weekends off work to allow mini breaks and genuinely good work life balance

·      Cost price treatment for your own pet

·      Private healthcare

·      CPD budget including funded certificates

·      Company Sick Pay (starting at 3 days and increasing following 12 months of employment)

·      Increased holiday entitlement to 33 days following 12 months of employment

·      Salary commensurate with experience £35,000-70,000

Vet (Night)

Following the successful introduction of our night teams at North Walsham we are looking for a fourth night veterinary surgeon to complete our night team! Our night vets enjoy a rota of 7 nights “on” followed by 21 nights “off” during which time they are free to relax and enjoy family time, explore the world or locum elsewhere if they want to! The nights are sleeping shifts from 6.30pm to 8.30am and are genuinely quiet. Our night vets also offer our clients prebooked Twighlight consultations from 7-9.30pm Monday to Friday. Our practice is a small animal and exotics family run independent practice proud to offer the highest standard of veterinary care to our patients and clients hence our introduction of night teams in February 2023. Accommodation is available for the week worked. Our well equipped practice has separate cat, dog and exotic pet waiting areas and wards, multiparameter units, fluid pumps, dedicated operating theatres, digital xray, dental xray, ultrasound scanner including cardiac capabilities, video gastroscope, laryngoscope, bronchoscope and rigid scope and onsite CT scanner.  Salary is dependent on experience between £40-60,000 per annum. CPD allowance in addition to webinar vet membership are provided.
