Our small animal practice in Hampshire, is growing fast and we are now looking for an additional Veterinary Nurse to join this friendly team!

Our Partner is an Advanced Practitioner in small animal surgery and the team sees a varied caseload including exotics. You will be joining a team of 2 full-time and 1 part-time Vet, 3 RVN’s, 1 Student Nurse and 4 Receptionists.

This is an exciting time for you to join this rapidly growing practice, which is focused on building a strong local reputation by providing quality and friendly service. 

The practice is close to Southampton with easy access to the picturesque New Forest National Park, making it a desirable place to anyone wishing to explore both coast and countryside. It also benefits from train links to London Waterloo, Poole and Bournemouth as well as easy access to the M27.

This role is full time at 40 hours per week including only 1 in 4 Saturday mornings and no OOH as the practice is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sundays, ensuring you enjoy an excelled work/life balance!

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the clinical and non-clinical teams to deliver the best levels of patient and customer care, taking full ownership of tasks and responsibilities
  • Manage and deal with bookings professionally and efficiently using RX Works
  • Greet clients and their pets for appointments, being sensitive to their requirements and always promoting a professional image
  • Comply with all policies and procedures within the surgery, including Health and Safety Regulations
  • Calculate and administer medications and keeping accurate records
  • Assist the Veterinary Surgeon during surgical procedures
  • Prepare, identify, and record results from radiography equipment

 Person Specification

You will have a good experience of veterinary nursing, excellent customer service and communication skills, be an effective team player, have a systematic approach when making decisions and be able to carry out the role effectively with planning and organisation. You are friendly, down-to-earth, have a genuine interest in animal welfare and enjoy the variety provided by the clients and colleagues alike.
