We are a lovely 100% small animal practice based over two sites in Cheltenham situated just minutes from J11 of the M5 for super easy access. Cheltenham is a Regency Spa town with an excellent range of shops and restaurants with the beautiful Gloucestershire Cotswolds on our doorstep. It is an easy journey to neighbouring towns and cities of Bristol, Bath, Birmingham, Cardiff and Swindon. A rail network connects Cheltenham to London and the rest of the UK.
For those who require accommodation either temporarily or permanently we also have two possible accommodation choices, one a very neat and tidy flat in Churchdown and the other, a very good condition two-bedroom property away from the practice (pictures on request).
Take your time
Our practice is somewhere you can take your time with clients with 15 minute or 30 minute appointments (longer for recent graduates). We try to balance a rewarding job where we work cases up with not feeling rushed or pressured. We have a highly insured client base which helps us deliver quality treatments based on what is best for the animal. Our team meets informally each day for mutual support and case discussions which means you never feel isolated or abandoned. There is 1 in 4 Saturday mornings but no other weekend or evening work.
Learn with us
Develop your skills with regular teaching sessions from an experienced dual certified colleague (Radiology and Surgery). Richard is ex Bristol Veterinary School staff and enjoys teaching all aspects of veterinary medicine and surgery and anyone wanting to develop surgically can expect instruction and support from basic to more complex surgical procedures. We carry a full selection of high end orthopaedic kit and perform most procedures in house. We also have an excellent imaging set up with a superb Esaote Ultrasound and DR X rays. We regularly arrange full day CPD courses that we can attend together to maximise the benefit. Recently we had a full day of Ultrasound from an RCVS Specialist with the whole veterinary team attending and our next team CPD will be on laparoscopic surgery. We also have a visiting RCVS Specialist Ophthalmologist. New and recent graduates as well as experienced colleagues are welcome.
What our departing colleague says about us:
“I came as a new graduate 2 years ago and I have enjoyed my time here very much indeed. I am now returning to Spain, it's what we call ‘bittersweet’ in Spain, bitter that I am leaving my much valued colleagues and wonderful friends and a place that I have been very happy, but sweet I am returning to be near my family and the sunshine! I leave with confidence in both medicine and surgery. The practice has allowed me theatre time every day and has developed my skills in a very supportive environment, giving me great confidence to move forward in my career. If you want to improve your skills in a relaxed environment this is the place for you!”
