A practice is looking for a locum vet whilst they recruit for a permanent Veterinary Surgeon.
The practice has five branch surgeries plus a tier 3 hospital. All sites are within a 30 minute drive from each other.
A locum vet is needed to work at their busy branch surgeries. The employed vets work 4 x 10 hour shifts per week which includes alternate Saturdays.
The practice is able to offer 4 days per week to a locum Vet or 5 days if the ideal candidate is happy to work Saturdays. Weekday shifts are 8.30-6.30pm and Saturdays are 8.30-4.30pm. There are no Sundays or out of hours duties as Vets Now is based at our hospital.
The practice would also accept part-time hours.
The role consists mainly of consulting, although an ability to help newly graduated Vets with routine surgery would be desirable.
Consults are 15 minutes long and time is provided during the day for admin (i.e reporting lab results, rpt prescriptions etc).
Each branch has an experienced RVN as branch head and is well equipped. Patients which require non routine surgery or investigations are generally referred to the central hospital.
The locum would often be the sole vet at a branch.
The practice can provide accommodation in a self contained flat above one of the village surgeries.
