Permanent Veterinary Surgeon

About the practice

We are a family run independent practice located in Norfolk. We care for small animals and exotics and also offer referral services for exotic pets, CT scanning and laser therapy as well as caring for several local zoo collections. We are accredited Gold Feline Friendly and Gold Rabbit Friendly and are proud to have won the Burgess Rabbit Practice of the Year award.

The practice has separate cat, dog and exotic pet waiting areas and wards, dedicated operating theatres and separate prep room, laser therapy unit, on site C.T. scanner, digital x-ray, dental x-ray, ultrasound, video endoscopy, tonometry, multiparameter units, fluid pumps, a memory garden and private car park. We are proud of our facilities and continue to invest in equipment and staff skills.

Located in beautiful Norfolk with the Norfolk broads and fine beaches within 20 minutes (including an active breeding seal colony!), truly rural countryside and London less than 2.5 hours away.

Case Load

Our ability to undertake a wide range of thorough diagnostics, surgeries and medical care in house means we rarely have need to refer patients out of house and enjoy both routine and complex cases so our vets have the opportunity to manage a case (with as much support needed) from beginning to end. All our vets have particular interests and we are happy to support, invest and encourage these.

Support Team

Our vets have a great support team including 8 RVN’s, ANA’s and Receptionists. We are also a nurse training practice.

Clients

Our clients are loyal and genuinely nice with high percentage insurance and an interest in keeping their pets healthy with preventative health care.

Why are we advertising

We recognise the level of burnout within the veterinary profession and are committed to looking after our current and new staff whilst still being able to offer high quality patient care. Our shifts and new vet roles are designed to offer something different to a wide range of vets from parents, to flexi working to new grad support and help promote a good work life balance, be able to leave work on time and have rota’d admin time and lunch breaks as well as a thoroughly enjoyable and interesting case load with friendly and knowledgeable support team. We want our staff to enjoy their profession and work, become the vets they always wanted to be and also have time to enjoy their family, friends and home life.

 Package benefits

For all roles Certificates are fully supported, funded and encouraged. Our benefits include paid webinar vet membership, VDS, RCVS, CPD, Private healthcare, pension, sick pay and additional sick pay and holiday accrual with length of employment.

Salary is generous and depending on desired role (£35,000-85,000 (pro rata for part time)). Relocation packages are available.

What are we looking for in a vet

We have a great team who are supportive and friendly and a practice with a very good reputation within the local area so we are looking for vets with a passion for patient and client care and a friendly approachable personality who share our family values and want to grow with us.

Our senior vets mean we can cater for all levels of experience (night and weekend vet roles require at least 2 years experience as these are sole charge positions)

Please enquire if interested.
